100 Dollars (Post #7)

Filed under: Me Me Me — Tense @ 11:00 am

So, I asked for my regular blog readers to help me out with some ideas for what they thought I should post about today, and I was so impressed by some of their prompts. I’m going to use one of those now, I think. This one comes from Mrs. Chili: “You’ve got $100 that you have to spend ONLY on yourself. You can’t pay off a bill, buy groceries, get gifts for anyone else, or invest it. What do you do with your money?”

Wouldn’t that be fun… What would I do with $100?  That’s not a whole lot these days, is it?  I think I would first go to my favorite CD store and get a few CD’s that I’ve really been wanting… I usually buy my music on iTunes and then just burn a CD if I want it, but sometimes I want the real thing in my hands.  There are a couple of Jack Johnson CDs I want to catch up with; I think I’d like the new Paolo Nutini  and Justin Timberlake, too.  And I’m sure there would be plenty more if I got there and looked at them.  I’ve also been known to buy whatever the music clerks are playing over the sound system in the store.   …All that would probably set me back by half, so with the remaining 50 or so dollars, I think I’d treat myself to a spa facial.  I’ve had two in the past, and they are amazing; not only do you get the face cleansing, they put heavy lotions on your feet and hands, and then they put warmers on them.  Oh, and when the cleansing is over, they drip warm oil on your forehead and massage your head and ears.  Talk about heaven!

No doubt my 100 dollars would be gone after that, but it sounds like a day and money well spent, doesn’t it?  What would y’all do?  Thanks again, Mrs. Chili, for the question.

  1. Oooooh, I love the way you spent that $100! I have had just one facial and I felt like ‘limp spaghetti’ after it was over.

I received $100 for my birthday and I bought a Sony Walkman MP3 player. It is purple (favorite color!) and it has an FM radio for those times that I want to hear NPR, etc.

Thanks for blogging and I’ll keep checking in to see how you are holding up!!

  2. I’m sure Geek would help you out with a facial if you asked nicely…
